Parking

Very limited parking will be available in the downtown area on Parade Day. Parking is available at the Carbon County parking lot, directly behind the downtown train station. The fee is typically $5-$10. This lot is known to fill up early. If you’re coming into town from the North on Rt 209, then you’ll see the train station on your right as you approach the traffic signal. Bear right at the signal and proceed a few more yards until you see the parking lot on your right. If you’re coming down Rt 903 from Route 80, proceed into the east side of town and over the Lehigh River Bridge and go left on Rt 209 to the parking lot.

Additional parking will be available at the Jim Thorpe Area High School, 1 Olympian Way, with the Shamrock Shuttle available to transport Spectators to the downtown area and back to the High School after the parade. The provided shuttle service is running every half-hour from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The shuttle will transport spectators between the high school and the courthouse annex. The marked shuttle buses also stop at the intersections of 9th and North Streets and 6th and North streets. Signs at pick up locations for shuttles will be posted.

Motorists are advised that parking along Route 209 will not be permitted. Vehicles parked along Route 209 on the Mansion House Hill in Mahoning Township will be towed.
